Twins Headed to Camp

Image
Lately people are accusing Kaneesha and Myranda of being twins. As they left for camp, this morning, I captured a brief video. While the differences can be distinguished, they certainly do look similar.

Lessons from Dad

Image
Earlier this week I spent time writing some of the lessons that I learned from my father, through the years. Today (Father's Day) I planned to edit them and post them to my blog. As I opened the document, it disappeared. That is the first document I've lost on my iPad (but evidently it happens). I'll try to take some time now to quickly write some more. I do need to hurry, my family is interested in playing some games today. S ome of the photos in this post were taken by Dad, others reminded me of him. 1 During my fourth grade year, my family moved from East Airport Road, where Becky's family now lives, to our home on Lambert Road. Living in the country came with great blessings, it also came with a few disadvantages. One thing we disliked about the move was the long bus ride to school. We were one of the first families on the bus and rode all through the countryside as the rest of the bus was slowly filled to capacity. To make things worse, the bus drove right pas...

Happy Father's Day!

Image
This Sunday afternoon I was able to take a rare nap. After an excellent meal, prepared by Noell, I opened my gifts of socks and a pair of pants. I then went into a brief hibernation (not caused by the gifts). I awakened to the aroma of double chocolate chip cookies. As I came out of the bedroom, I went directly to the warm cookies on the counter. Before I could pour a glass of milk and eat my first cookie, Tanner ran over and said, "Dad, I saved some cookie dough for you!" He knows that I believe cookie dough is even better than cookies. I spread the cookie dough on my cookie (like frosting) and ate it with a chilled glass of milk. OOOOOH, what a lovely Father's Day gift! Thank you so much Tanner! Also, thank you everyone for such a great Father's Day!

Series of Unfortunate Events...

Today was what I would consider a hot summer day (95 degrees Fahrenheit). As the evening approached, I was excited to get out of the house. I invited Noell and Kaneesha to go for a walk with Blu. Kaneesha threw the ball for Blu several times as Noell and I began to walk down the street. Three houses down the street Kaneesha was running with Blu to catch up with us. All of a sudden we heard a fall behind us. Blu had stepped on Kaneesha foot as she ran. Kaneesha wiped out on the sidewalk and the rocks. When she stood up, she noticed that the new Tom's brand shoes that she purchased yesterday had a hole in them. The welt swelled up after this photo was taken We walked for a bit, then went to the soccer field to throw our boomerang and let Blu chase his ball. Kaneesha and Noell threw the boomerang a bit, then I threw it. Because my older brother, Fred, served his mission in Australia, I've thrown boomerangs quite a bit. After a couple throws, I had zoomed in my accuracy and...

Myranda's Performance "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia

Image
Myranda loves to perform! This year we were able to find a group where she could take performing arts classes from a great teacher. Myranda has been able to participate with her friend McKell Wright and they have enjoyed their time together. My sister, Becky Arnold and her husband Jason, brought their six children and my nephew Spencer Goodworth to the performance. It is amazing to be in such a great family. Shortly after they left Blackfoot, their air conditioning went out in their Suburb an. They ended up driving four long hours in the heat of the day with the windows down. They arrived in time to eat Noell's great pulled pork burritos for dinner before the performance. They stayed the night then took Myranda and Tanner home with them for the week.
