Expensive Family Treasure

Image
This week, Mom sent me information about an exhibit happening in Provo. When I read about it, I knew I had to see it. I was so excited, that on the day before, I almost took my boss to see it (luckily he couldn't go, because it was the wrong day). On Friday, between meetings, I went. The private collector, Reid Moon, has amassed many Bibles, Books of Mormon, and other special collections. When I arrived, I learned that I was early, and they had not finished the setup. Reid volunteered to take me on a quick tour before he took the more expensive books from the vault. It  was awesome to see an original printing of the six book set of Les Miserables. He then showed me copies of Bibles and other rare books. As he came to a case with a pilgrim hat and musket, he said, this is where William Bradford's Bible will go. I let him know that I'm a descendant of William Bradford and he continued to show me other books, like Hellen Keller's Bible. After we finished, he asked ...

You Be The Judge

Since January, Myranda has participated in daily practices for the play Legally Blonde, Jr. This week we had the opportunity to see the results of their tremendous effort. On Wednesday night my mother came with my sister Becky, and three of her daughters, Clara, Martha, and Sarah. My brother, Ken came with his wife, Ada, and also brought Sorine, Julia, Mitchel, & Spencer. My older sister, Kathy, came with her husband, Rex, and their daughter Ashley. Ashley had her friend and their exchange student from Germany.  On Thursday, Noell, Tanner, and I went for a second showing and enjoyed it again! On Friday, Kaneesha and Riley came with Brittany Halvorsen (Kaneesha's friend she met while at Southern Virginia University). Also, Noell's parents brought her Grandmother. Myranda's cousins Morgan and Reigan also came. As Noell and I attended all three nights (Noell also attended Monday), we were very impressed with the quality of the perfo...

Goal Achieved

Image
Taken in January ... Getting closer to the goal For some time, I've wanted to return to a healthier weight. This summer, I was in a meeting where a person was giving away a book on becoming healthier. As she anounced the give away, I had a strong impression that I needed it. If I didn't win it, I would seek a copy of it and buy it. I was filled with excitement when my name was drawn to receive the book. This happened just before Kaneesha's wedding and I was too busy to begin to read the book. Affter her wedding I looked through all the pictures and was filled with determination as I saw photos of myself. It was clear to me that I needed to lose weight to become healthier. I then began to study the book. Since that time, I have exercised and eaten better. As a result, I've lost 40 pounds and have reached the target weight I had hoped for. I've also been able to maintain it for several months. I am working to maintain a healthy weight throughout my life. ...

Good Dog

During the last school year, Tanner and I began to attend the "All-Pro Dads" activities at his school, Parkview Elementary. We have also faithfully attended the activities this year. During the activity in January, they brought in some police officers and a police dog. Tanner and enjoyed this. We have also enjoyed each of the other activities.
