Private Tour

This week, Tim and Heather brought their family to stay the night as they traveled to St. George, Utah for their family Christmas celebration.

While they were here, Tim discussed his work and mentioned that some of it was recently placed in the Provo Town Center Temple. Noell then told him that she'd run into Geri, our cousin's wife, that day. Daniel is working as a security guard at the temple so Geri had the opportunity to go through the temple.

The next thing we knew, Noell had contacted Daniel and he had setup for us to go through the temple about 45 minutes later. I had been at a campfire with the scouts, so I quickly showered and we jumped in the car and drove the 25 minutes.

We then had the opportunity to go through the temple. The amazing part was that we weren't on a guided tour that limited the route we took, we were able to walk anywhere in the rooms and see anything up close.

We admired Tim's work up close. We also walked up close to and analyzed the amazing woodwork on the walls and the altars. We scrutinized the amazing murals within inches of any part that impressed us. It was inspiring.

One of the things that I most loved was that I didn't feel pressured to leave. Nobody else was in the temple. Tim and I are both art lovers who enjoy taking our time admiring the beauty. I believe Heather was more patient because Noell, Daniel, & Geri were there. I also believe that Noell also had increased patience because it was Tim's artwork. Because of that, both Tim and I analyzed and discussed whatever came to our minds as we took our time and we had a great time (and took a lot of time).

As we were finishing, Daniel asked if we would like to go up to the mezzanine. I didn't know what that included, but it sounded pretty cool. Geri's eyes got big and with a grand smile, she nodded that we wanted to go. Daniel then returned from his office with the key and we proceeded to climb into the attic of the temple. That was nice, but it got much better. We then entered a place where we were looking down on the stained glass that is on the ceiling of the celestial room. There were lights shining through it to make it appear like the sun was shining through. It was beautiful. Daniel then opened a stained glass window to the outside and we stepped out onto the balcony. From there, we could see up close the angel Moroni and a view of the temple grounds below. It was most amazing!

Noell then said, "Look," and pointed at the clouds. The clouds above us had a shadow of the angel Moroni cast from the lights shining on the Angel. It was truly awesome, an experience I hope to never forget.
