Now, that's Writer's Block!!!
3/1/2020
Myranda,
Began writing and Tate needed held... delayed.
Began writing and needed to reply to a text from a single sister Tanner and I minister to.
Began writing and Dad came in and said, “If you’ve got some bread, I’d take a slice." I bumped, then dropped the butter container lid - it broke (the container is one Tim made in a pottery class at Ricks College). I’ll decide later whether to throw it away or glue it back together again. Last time the bottom broke, this time it’s the top... Is it a matching set, or a piece destined for the junkyard?
Here are a few things from the week:
Monday night I spent the time working on the closet across from the Dad & Mom’s bedroom, it’s getting more ready to become a laundry room.
Tuesday was a full day of work, arrived home around 9pm.
Wednesday I spent time in the morning with my brother, Clint and Garrett from Deseret Industries discussing Clint’s employment plans. Spent the afternoon watching the twins for Noell to do what she needs to do. During the evening I worked on business expenditures and tax preparations.
Thursday I spent the day in Salt Lake for work. That afternoon I became aware of Kaneesha not doing well, so I made arrangements to stay in Utah.
Friday I enjoyed time with the family and installed the Ham Radio into the van. We took Kaneesha to dinner and enjoyed being with her and Brooks. We love them so much!
Saturday Tanner & I spent the day at RootsTech—fun day of family history. Drove home that night.
Sunday was a truly amazing stake priesthood meeting at 7am (perhaps one of the best meetings I’ve ever attended in my entire life. We came home with just enough time for me to clean the snow off the van while Tanner loaded the twins in and Noell grabbed the final items.
After priesthood meeting ended Kelly Mecham (the Sunday school president came to me. During the meeting he learned one of the teachers was sick). He invited me to teach the class of 13 and 14 year old youth. I love that group of young men and young women. That was one of the most refreshing classes I’ve been in for quite a while. Preparation for the class was 49 years of life experience and years of church, family, seminary, and personal study. I chose to ask what they wanted to discuss and went with that (instead of the lesson—as I’d studied personally this week, but hadn’t prepared to teach).
Maylee Epich asked us to discuss John the Beloved and how he will not die. We went with that topic and I felt we had some of the most amazing gospel discussions as we turned to the scriptures and shared our thoughts and feelings as a class. We also discussed the 3 Nephites and that they wished for the same as John the Beloved. We read about that. Some of the class read additional things and shared them (including that they would face no pain or sorrows except for the sins of the world. We discussed what sorrows we’ve had to deal with. One shared the difficulty of her parent’s divorce (she shared this on a very shallow level, but enough for the class to appreciate good marriages).
We closed with fact that John “shall minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation who dwell on the earth” Doctrine & Covenants 7:6. We discussed salvation and whether we could receive a ministration from John. We then watched a video clip of the song “My Own Sacred Grove” written by Angie Killian (it was shown during stake priesthood meeting this morning).
As I said, I love the class and had a great time with them. It was such a blessing for me to be able to teach them. I hope that they enjoyed it even half as much as I did.
