Return from Kansas

Liberty Jail
Last week I was in Kansas City with my supervisor and co-workers from the Central Area. It was a great training meeting and I felt blessed by being there.

We also had the opportunity to do some special things. We visited Liberty Jail, the Independence Visitor’s Center, Far West, and Adam-ondi-Ahman. I love seeing those Church history sites and learning more about the great people who helped bring the Church back to the earth. It’s also amazing to learn more about what the Lord plans for the future.

It’s still my dream to take the family to Kansas City area and then to Nauvoo. Hopefully we can do that when Myranda returns.

Bulls Eye! = 5 Points
For fun, one evening, we threw axes. Early in my married live I threw some hand-made axes with scouts, but this was something else. The area was designed for safety and the axes were purchased instead of hand made. The floor was marked (to throw from the same spot each time) and the instructors were excellent. By the end, I was getting quite consistent. I had so much fun, I wanted to return home and setup an ax throwing space... Perhaps this will come later in my life.

When we returned home, I spent every free moment studying to pass the Ham Radio license test. It turned out that Tanner and I both passed!

Blue Dot = 10 POINTS!!!
This week I tried to catch up after having been gone last week. My head is spinning, but I’m getting there.

One thing we’ve been working on is a laundry room upstairs for Mom. Dad has reached the point that he doesn’t make it to the bathroom all of the time and his clothes are often soiled. Mom typically does laundry every day and sometimes 2-3 times per day. An upstairs laundry room would be very helpful.

On Friday night, my friend, Mark Bigler came over to work on the plumbing for the laundry room and to hookup a second hot water heater. When I returned around 10:00 he was still working. I went down and kept him company until he finished. He didn’t dare stop part-way through, because we wouldn’t have water. He ended up finishing at 1:30am Saturday morning. I had a great time visiting with him, but felt bad that he was so late.

Saturday morning we went to Paisley’s baptism. Taylor lead the music. Stailey and Ashton served as witnesses. Noell had a lesson to give in Relief Society meeting, so after the baptism, she went to the church to finalize her lesson. She was there several hours as I took care of the twins. Every time I have both twins for a while, I’m so amazed at what Noell can do with them. Taking care of the twins is truly an incredible job.

This morning, Sunday, Noell had ward council meeting. After I was showered and eaten, I started with the twins. I bathed them and got them dressed (with Tanner’s help) and we arrived to church at about 8:50. I was quite proud of what we achieved.

In reading 1 Nephi 14:14 I inserted Myranda: "And it came to pass that I, Myranda, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of Slovakia; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory."
